375 gold chain or hoops
Light UK high-street chains often weigh 1–3 grams. The 9K gold price per gram times that weight is a small cash number. High-street retail was never that melt.

The 9K gold price applies to jewelry stamped 375, which means the item contains about 37.5% pure gold. This standard is common in the UK, Australia and some Commonwealth markets, especially for affordable rings, chains, earrings and everyday jewelry.
Because 9K gold has a lower gold percentage than 10K, 14K or 18K, its melt value per gram is lower even when the item looks similar. A heavy 375 chain can still be valuable, but it should be priced with the 9K gold price, not with the 14K or 18K rows.
Before selling, look for the 375 stamp, weigh the gold portion in grams, then compare the current melt value with the offer. If the piece includes stones, steel springs, plated parts or a non-gold watch movement, those parts should not be counted as pure gold weight.
For buyers, 9K jewelry can be practical because the alloy is harder and usually more affordable. For sellers, the key is not the original retail price; it is the current 9K gold price, actual gram weight and payout percentage offered by the buyer.
In the UK and Australia the same alloy is sold as 9ct or 9 carat gold, stamped 375. That is 37.5% fine gold. The 9K gold price on this page is that millesimal melt, not a “half of 18K” guess.
In the United States, 10K is the legal floor for calling an item gold. A 375 chain can still be melted for 9K gold content, but a US shop may not market it as gold jewelry. That legal label does not zero the metal. Use this 9K gold price, not the 10K gold price, and do not skip the piece as costume until it is tested.
UK assay marks (town, date letter, fineness) sit beside 375. You only need the fineness for this calculator. A 375 gold chain with a steel clasp should be weighed without the steel if you can separate it.
Light UK high-street chains often weigh 1–3 grams. The 9K gold price per gram times that weight is a small cash number. High-street retail was never that melt.
Subtract the stone. A 375 gold ring melt is the gold mount only. Cubic zirconia does not ride the 9K gold price.
Sort 375 away from 750. Using the 9K gold price on an 18K piece underpays you. Using 18K on 9ct overstates the lot until the tester stops the deal.
Confirm 375 or 9ct, weigh the gold, then use the 9K calculator at the top before you take a UK, Australian, or online 9K gold price.
Pawn shops typically pay 50-70% of the melt value for 9K gold. Based on today's live price, you can expect approximately $26.03 to $36.45 per gram. For the best price, we recommend comparing offers from multiple gold buyers before selling.
The current 9K gold price per pennyweight is $80.97. A pennyweight (DWT) equals 1.555 grams and is commonly used by jewelers and gold buyers in the USA. There are 20 pennyweights in a troy ounce.
The value of a 9K gold necklace or bracelet depends on its weight. Use our calculator above to find the exact value. For example, a typical 10-gram 9K gold necklace is worth approximately $520.69 in melt value. Designer or antique jewelry may command a premium above the metal value.
The "375" hallmark indicates 9K gold (37.5% pure gold). This mark is common in the UK, Australia, and some Commonwealth markets for affordable gold jewelry.
The 9K gold price is calculated by multiplying the 24K spot gold price by the purity percentage. Formula: Spot Price × 37.5% = 9K Price. This gives you the intrinsic metal value, also known as the "melt value."

A 375 hallmark means the item is 37.5% pure gold, which is 9K gold. This standard is common in the UK, Australia, and some Commonwealth jewelry markets.
Yes, but the melt value is lower than 10K, 14K, or 18K because 9K gold contains less pure gold. Use the calculator above to estimate its value by gram weight.
Yes. 9ct (9K) gold stamped 375 is 37.5% fine gold. It is a legal jewellery standard in the UK and Australia. This page prices that melt, not a high-street replacement tag.
Solid 9K or 9ct marked 375 is solid alloy, not a surface coat. Marks like 9ct GF or plated are not this 9K gold price. If the stamp is missing, test before using the calculator.
Solid 9ct gold is $52.07 per gram in melt value here. Ten grams of 375 gold is about $520.69 before any buyer cut.
No. 9ct is 37.5% gold; 10K is 41.7%. In the US, 10K is the legal floor for calling jewellery gold. A 375 piece still has melt on this 9K page — do not price it as 10K.
